Ooni of Ife, ‘a unifying factor’ says Mines Minister
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, on Wednesday, was described as a unifying force for the Yoruba race by Mr. Olamilekan Adegbite, Minister of Mines and Steel Development.
The minister spoke in Ile Ife during a courtesy visit to Ooni in his palace.
Adegbite, who described the monarch as an epitome of peace and unity across the Yoruba race, also commended the royal father for adding to the sense of pride of the Yoruba people across the world.
A statement by Moses Olafare, media aide to Ooni quoted the minister as saying that “My father Ooni Ogunwusi has since his enthronement, established himself as a unifying force not only in Yorubaland but also across Nigeria and Africa.
“Even when some people criticised his several consultations for peace, Baba kept on going stronger and I am happy to say that his sacrifices are now paying off.”
Responding, Oba Ogunwusi said Adegbite is a true son of Oduduwa who is determined to prompt service delivery in the interest of the Nigerian people.
“The Minister is my son from Ogun state and I am proud of the good news that I have been receiving daily about him.
“I pray that the Almighty Olodumare continues to bless him and his team in the Ministry,” the royal father said.
