A yet-to-be-identified man was killed on Saturday night after a container truck fell off the popular Ojuelegba bridge and crushed his Honda minivan in Lagos State on Saturday.

WuzupNigeria gathered that the truck was heading towards Teslim Balogun Stadium around 7pm when it skidded off Ojuelegba bridge.

An eyewitness told our correspondent that both the trailer and container fell on the car, which was squatting opposite the UBA Bank and crushed the occupant.

The source, who craved anonymity, disclosed that the victim did not die instantly as he was heard crying for help.

Despite an hour of spirited efforts put up by sympathisers to rescue him, the victim could not be pulled out of the crushed automobile.

WuzupNigeria learnt that the victim gave up the ghost before the arrival of men of the fire service and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency.

As of the time of filing this report, LASEMA has yet to release an official report on the accident.
