Blessing Oborodudu breezed into the semi-final of the women’s wrestling event by defeating Meerim Zhumanazarova of Kyrgyzstan in the quarterfinals at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Kitted in the famous green and white, Oborodudu made her way to the last eight by defeating Azerbaijani’s Elis Manolova 13-2 with an impressive display to overpower her counterpart.

The Nigerian wrestler went on to beat Zhumanazarova to advance to the semi-final of the women’s wrestling freestyle 68kg event where she would face Mongolia’s Battsetseg Soronzonbold in the semi-finals.
