Oliseh wins first match with Fortuna Sittard
Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has debuted his work with Dutch second division club, Fortuna Sittard with a win.
The 42-year-old who resigned as Nigeria’s national coach at about 2:28am on February 26, 2016 got off to a fine start as he led his team to a 1-0 away victory against relegation bound Achilles 29.
A 58th minute strike by Gavin Vlijter was all Fortunezen needed to secure all three points which is their sixth of the season from 20 matches.
Oliseh who left the Super Eagles job after only eight months took over from Ben van Dael at Fortuna Sittard Stadium, after a faulty start that put the club points near relegation zone.
The weekend’s victory over Achilles 29 means the former Super Eagles captain and his men have one win away this season after nine failed attempts.
They will be home against Telstar on Friday, where they are expected to continue their winning form to ease off relegation worries.
They are currently 17th on the Dutch second division log with 18 points from 20 matches.
I am so delighted for my players, the fans and most especially the management of club,Fortuna. To God be the praise though https://t.co/F2HAEMcNIH
