OLIC 4: The connection I have with my people is genuine, says Olamide
Popular Nigerian rapper, Olamide Adedeji believes the secrets of his success is that the streets have always been loyal to him.
Olamide’s submission He made this statement ahead of his December 17 concert scheduled to take place at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
Speaking with newsmen at a media parley for Olamide Live In Concert (OLIC), he said: The streets have always been loyal to me.The connection I have with my people is genuine, it is organic and anyone who identifies with real will be present,” he said.
Tactically evading the questions about who and who would perform, Olamide said his colleagues who supported him in the previous editions of the show would be there to perform again.
He said: “My colleagues that have supported me in OLIC 1,2 & 3 will be there to perform.”
Alex Okeke, Olamide’s manager said that the concert OLIC would live up to its buildup.
“We promise to have a concert that will be forever in the minds of many. Lagos is number one in entertainment in Nigeria and Africa.Bringing OLIC to a more spacious place like Teslim is a good thing for us; it’s about taking it to another level.”
Adebimpe Akinsola, the acting commissioner for tourism in Lagos, said the state decided to support the concert in a bid “to promote entertainment and using it to drive tourism in the state”.
He said: “At the inception of Ambode’s administration, he promised some cardinal economic drive to boost the state economy which is “T.H.E.S.E’’ Tourism, Hospitality, Entertainment, Sports and Excellence.
“Olamide’s show falls within this and we are aware of the crowd that this show will attract to Lagos and maybe expecting more guests from all over the world next year.
“We have been supporting entertainment for some time now, people can see our intervention in supporting the Nollywood and others and now Olamide brought into the vision.”
