Nigeria’s COVID-19 infections nears 100,000
Nigeria is less than 3,000 infections away from 100,000 total number of recorded COVID-19 cases, according to data from the NCDC.
The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, on Friday night, confirmed more than 1,500 new infections across 21 states of the federation including, the FCT Abuja.
Lagos remains the state with the highest infections as it set a new daily record of 739 new cases, followed by Plateau-and the FCT with 168 and 153 new cases respectively.
Others include, Oyo-91, Nasarawa-90, Rivers-80, Kaduna-35, Edo-33, Kano-29, Ogun-21, Delta-19, Sokoto-16, Akwa Ibom-11, Ebonyi-11, Enugu-10, Osun-10, Niger-9, Bauchi-8, Kebbi-8, Katsina-2 and Taraba-1.
At the time of this report, Nigeria now has 97,478 confirmed cases. 78,552 patients have so far been discharged. Sadly, 1,342 deaths have been recorded since the first case was confirmed in February 2019.
