Nigerians react to Dream Team’s semi-final loss
Nigeria can no longer play for gold at the Rio 2016 Olympics men’s soccer event.
A two nil loss to the German team on Wednesday ensured that Nigeria would be playing for bronze against Honduras in a third place tie.
The loss met with different reactions from Nigerians. Many directed their displeasure at the sports ministry, others were crossed with the team and their coach while still others think they tried their best but the Germans were just better.
Of course, there are always those folks who are looking for every opportunity to troll the government and the match just gave them a reason. Yet there were others who were disappointed because Nigeria won’t repeat their Atlanta ’96 feat against Brazil.
At a point in the semi-final tie game, many people – including KayCee the Limpopo crooner – wanted the job of Samson Siasia, telling him what to do over the social media. Unfortunately, the coach couldn’t possibly juggle twitter plus tactics on the field.
I think Aminu should be taken off #NGRGER

For a team that has gone through so much trouble including the distraction of beret wearing minister nosing around camp. Kudos boys #NGRGER
