At a time when many Nigerians are condemning some operatives of the Nigeria Police Force for brutalisation, extortion and other nefarious acts, a man seems to have something good about the NPF.
He shared his recent encounter with the NPF when his family was in distress.
The man identified as Ogujor Efe took to Twitter on Tuesday to shower accolades on the police for rescuing his family from being robbed by a suspected burglar who had broken into their home in Ibadan, Oyo State late in the night while he was away in Ondo State.
Efe said after receiving a distress call from his wife that a burglar was in their apartment, he searched online where he got a phone number on the NPF website which he called immediately.
“The phone number turned out to be the number of the CP Oyo state,” he said
He added:
“I called the line and he picked immediately. He collected my details and in less than 2mins, he told me he has contacted the DPO NPF Ojoo (Ibadan) and he has given them my phone number. This was few mins after 12am, in less than 15mins the men of the NPF Ojoo have secured my compound and have also gone into my apartment to bring my family out.”
Efe who was full of appreciation to the NPF wrote:
“Dear @PoliceNG. So, I got a distress call from my wife about someone who had entered our apartment with the intention to ROB, I was confused because I was far away in Akure. I called a relative but his phone number was off, so I called my neighbour to inform them about what was happening in my flat.
“Still confused I started googling and I stumbled upon a phone number which turned out to be the phone number of the CP Oyo state from NPF website, I called the line and he picked immediately. He collected my details and in less than 2mins, he told me he has Contacted the DPO NPF Ojoo (Ibadan) and he has given them my phone number. This was few mins after 12am, in less than 15mins the men of the NPF Ojoo have secured my compound and have also gone into my apartment to bring my family out. The Burglar left the scene immediately.

“He heard the Policemen were around. This happened while he was still trying to gain access into the bedroom to rob my wife. At 12am, at the point where it is difficult to see help. I really want to appreciate the CP in charge of Oyo state, the DPO Ojoo Police station.
“And the Entire @PoliceNG. We’ve heard so many bad stories about NPF but I am a living witness that the @PoliceNG are working and timely once you make the right contacts. Just to let you all know, I don’t know anyone of (NPF) that came to help. I only Google searched and help came.”
