Nigerian drug lord, ‘Chief’, arrested in India

The central crime branch of Bengaluru Police in India on Tuesday arrested the kingpin of a drug racket and peddling network in the city.

Chidiebere Ambrose, a Nigerian, also known as ‘Chief’ in the drug peddling network, was arrested from a house in Banaswadi.

Joint commissioner crime, Sandeep Patil said,

“Kingpin of the cocaine supply network in the city has been arrested and he is known as ‘Chief’. In all previous drugs cases, we found that all the Nigerian drug peddlers are buying cocaine from one person named ‘Chief’. After detailed investigation, this Chief has now been arrested. Further investigation is on.”

According to the police, the Nigerian national’s target buyers were college students and private employees of big firms.

On Thursday, CCB also arrested four other drug peddlers in Bengaluru and seized drugs worth Rs 1.15 crore. The peddlers had procured 5.6kg hashish oil, 3.3kg marijuana to sell it for the upcoming New Year celebrations in Bengaluru.
