Nigeria records 156 new cases of COVID-19 – NCDC
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 156 new cases of COVID-19 nationwide on the 27th of April 2021.
In a statement released by the NCDC on its verified Twitter handle in the early hours of Wednesday, the total confirmed cases in the country has risen to 164,912 cases.
According to the NCDC, a total of “155,012 cases have been discharged and 2,063 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.”
This means that a total of 49 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the toll from 154,963 on Monday to 155,012 on Tuesday.
However, in the last 24-hours, the NCDC confirmed that a single patient died of complications relating to the deadly virus.
The 516 new cases are reported from 11 states- Lagos-50, Enugu-43, Adamawa-40, FCT-8, Ogun-5, Akwa Ibom-3, Plateau-3, Jigawa-1, Kaduna-1, Oyo-1 and Rivers-1.
“Today’s report includes: Data from Enugu State are recorded on the 20th- 26th of April, 2021, while Adamawa State cases are recorded over the period of two weeks,” the NCDC noted.
A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities.
