Court drops eight of 15 counts against Nnamdi Kanu
At least eight of the 15 counts bordering on treason and felony levelled against the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, have been dropped by on Abuja Division of the Federal High court on Friday.
Kanu appeared before Justice Binta Nyako in Abuja amidst heavy security by the operatives of the Department of State Services.
Although journalists were barred from the court premises by the DSS, NairaMetrics reported that Justice Nyako struck out counts 6,7,9,10,11,12,13 and 14
As such, Kanu now faces seven charges bordering on treason and felony; counts 1,2,3,4,5,8 and 15.
“In this instant preliminary objection application, I have read the counts and counts 6,7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 have not disclosed any offence,” Justice Nyako held.
