Mourinho’s Tottenham back to top of EPL after draw against Chelsea

Tottenham returned to the top of the Premier League table on Sunday night after playing a goalless draw against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge.

Frank Lampard pitched his star-studded Chelsea squad against his former boss’ Spurs team which boast of the like of Gareth Bale, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.

A win for the Blues would have seen them top the league by goal difference as the would have tied with Liverpool on 21-points but it wasn’t to be as the encounter with Spurs ended goalless.

Timo Werner’s first-half goal for the Blues was ruled out after the German was flagged for being offside while Mason Mount forced a good save from Hugo Lloris in the second half.

Olivier Giroud could have well won the game for the home side in the closing stages, but he hit a tame effort straight at Hugo Lloris.

Jose Mourinho’s men who are unbeaten in nine league games top the log with goal difference as they tie with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool who are second-placed on 21points.

Meanwhile, Chelsea who have not lost in their last 11 games in all competitions now sit in third place, two points behind Tottenham and Liverpool, who drew 1-1 at Brighton on Saturday.
