Morata stings Real Madrid as Atletico wins derby 3-1

Atletico Madrid delivered a stunning performance to thrash Real Madrid 3-1 in the Madrid derby on Sunday.
Alvaro Morata scored a brace and Antoine Griezmann also netted as Diego Simeone’s side outclassed their city rivals.
Morata opened the scoring with a towering header inside four minutes, and Griezmann doubled Atletico’s lead just over a quarter of an hour later.
Toni Kroos pulled a goal back for Real Madrid in the 35th minute, but Morata restored Atletico’s two-goal advantage just after half-time.
Real Madrid had their chances to get back into the game, but Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak made a number of fine saves to preserve his side’s victory.
The win moves Atletico up to fifth place in the LaLiga table, while Real Madrid drop to third.
