Mixed reactions as Omokri’s suspends #HarassBuhariOutOfLondon protest to allow Buhari ‘fast in peace’
Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has suspended the protest he organized at the Abuja House in London against the medical vacation of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), to the UK.
Recall that some Nigerians in the UK a week ago, in protests, demand Buhari be made to return to Abuja immediately. The Nigerians stormed the Abuja house located at number 2, Campden Hill, Kensington, London demanding Buhari’s repatriation.
A key face in the demonstration is Omokri, a loyalist and former aide of the nation’s former leader, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
However, Omokri on Tuesday morning (today), announced on his verified Twitter account the temporary suspension of the protest to ‘allow Buhari observe his fast in peace.
He also appealed to a former presidential aspirant, Omoyele Sowore, to at this time suspend the BuhariMustGo campaign.
Omokri, however, threatened to resume the protest should Buhari make any attempt to meet his doctors.
“He wrote, Due to the Ramadan fast which began today, we have decider to temporarily suspend #HarassBuhariOutofLondon to allow General Muhammadu Buhari to observe his fast in peace. I call on Omoyele Sowore’s #BuhariMustGo group to consider this. If he makes an attempt to see his doctors, we will resume.”
