Teenager jailed three months for stabbing trader in Ogun
An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State on Monday sentenced a teenager, Sadiq Raji, to three months in prison for stabbing a man.
The magistrate, Mrs A.O. Adeyemi, did not give Raji (18) an option of fine.
Adeyemi said that prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that Raji was guilty as charged.
The police had charged Raji, whose address was not provided, with assault.
He had pleaded not guilty to the charge but prosecution counsel, Insp. E. O. Adaraloye, told the court that the convict committed the offence in January at Ota Market in Ogun State.
Adaraloye said that the convict stabbed one Mr. Abubakar Musa with a knife and inflicted an injury on his cheek, in contravention of Section 355 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State, 2006
