Abuja-Kaduna train attack: Ex-Zamfara Deputy Gov Wakkala shot, hospitalised
A former Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Ibrahim Wakkala, sustained gunshot injuries in Monday’s terrorist attack on an Abuja-Kaduna train.
This was contained in a statement released by Wakkala’s media aide, Yusuf Idris.
Idris disclosed that the former deputy dovernor was returning from the APC National Convention before he got shot during the gun duel between the terrorists and the military.
He was, however, quick to add that Wakkala has been moved to a military hospital in Kaduna State for treatment.
“He was initially abducted but was rescued by the DSS and military, it was during the process he sustain gunshot injury in the leg. He is very okay now, he is receiving treatment at the hospital in Kaduna state,” Idris added.
