Manchester United striker Cavani welcomes fourth child

Manchester United and Uruguay striker, Edinson Cavani, on Thursday evening announced the arrival of a new baby boy, his second child, with his wife Jocelyn.
The former Paris Saint Germain star who capped off his season with a Premier League Goal of the Month award for May completed a tally of 17 goals in over 30 appearances for United in his first season at Old Trafford.

Despite the Europa League disappointment, Cavani can smile again with the birth of his son, named ‘Silvestre’, his fourth child.

“Today is one of those special days that God gives us, happy with the arrival of our little “Silvestre” … I congratulate you #eternaprimavera21 for that courage of Leona I love you,” Cavani wrote on Twitter alongside a photo of newly-born Silvestre held by his mother and Edinson’s wife Jocelyn in the hospital bed.

Cavani was married to Maria Soledad Cabris Yarrús, with whom he has two sons, Bautista (born 22 March 2011) and Lucas (8 March 2013) before their divorce in 2014.

The 34-year-old had his first daughter, India (17 May 2019), with his girlfriend Jocelyn Burgardt who has now given him his fourth and third boy, Silvestre.

Meanwhile, Cavani’s employer, Manchester United have congratulated their N0. 7 who recently extended his stay at Old Trafford until the end of the 2021/22 football season.

The club wrote: “Everyone at Manchester United would like to congratulate Edinson Cavani on the arrival of his baby boy Silvestre. Our Uruguayan centre-forward announced the birth of his son with a post on his social media accounts on Thursday evening.”

Past and present United stars, including Juan Mata, David De Gea, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Angel Di Maria, and the new baby’s namesake, ex-defender Mikael Silvestre, all congratulated United’s No. 7.

Also, Cavani’s former teammates at Paris Saint-Germain including Marco Verratti, Christopher Nkunku, Pablo Sarabia and Mauro Icardi, also joined in congratulating the Uruguayan.
