Man, 24, in court over alleged N2.1m fraud

A 24-year old man, Ahmed Fadulilahi, was, on Tuesday, arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court over alleged N2.1 million fraud.

The Police Prosecutor, ASP Taiwo Adegoke, told the court that Fadulilahi collected the money under false pretense from a firm, Captain Cooked Bakery.

He said that the defendant committed the offense in December 2020 in Osogbo.

Adegoke said that the offense contravened Section 390 (9)(6) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun, 2002.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.

The Defense Counsel, Mr. Bobo Odutola, prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.

The Magistrate, Isola Omisade, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million, with two sureties in like sum.

Omisade said that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and present evidence of tax payments, two passport photographs, and an affidavit of means.

He, thereafter, adjourned the case till March 24, for hearing.
