‘Man who suffered stroke after sack by Ajimobi, reinstated by Makinde eight years after’
A Nigerian lady has shared the heart-melting story of her dad’s friend who she said was wrongfully dismissed from the Oyo State public service by the administration of the immediate past governor Abiola Ajimobi.
@Ayomidebabs took to her Twitter page to share the story which has since gone viral on the microblogging site, attracting a series of emotional reactions from users.
She said her dad’s friend, who was ‘wrongfully dismissed’ by ex-governor Ajimobi in 2011, the year he assumed office as the governor of Oyo has been recalled into the service with full compensation.
A few months into the administration of Makinde as Oyo governor, he had set up a committee to review the wave of dismissal that wept through several ministries in the state under the administration of his predecessor.
The committee submitted reports of its findings last December and recommended the recall of some of the workers who were fired, saying they were wrongfully dismissed from service and also said the sack of others was in the right order.
One of those recalled was Ayomide dad’s friend.
The lady who could not contain her joy took to Twitter to share the letter of reinstatement signed by the State’s Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources.
The letter read in part:
“I am directed to inform you that the State Executive Council in its meeting of 10th December 2019, has approved your reinstatement into the Public Service following the clearance of the allegations levelled against you.”
Ayomide added that the reinstatement came at a time when the man and his family had lost all hope as the dismissal led to his partial stroke.
She wrote:
“My dad’s friend was reinstated today after being wrongfully dismissed 8 years ago under the governorship of Ajimobi. Gov. Seyi Makinde is truly the definition of a just leader.
“Ps. He will be compensated in full for the 8 years.
“He and his family lost all hope, he even had partial stroke at some point but God fought for him.”
