The Lagos State Police Command announces the apprehension of the most sought-after suspected traffic robber operating in the vicinity of Ijora Badia.

According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, who confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday, the police had been diligently pursuing the suspect for the past six months.

Hundeyin disclosed that the operatives of the Ijora Badia Division had conducted extensive intelligence gathering regarding the activities of the suspected individual, 18-year-old Olawale Odunsi, leading to his eventual arrest.

The suspect, as per Hundeyin, had allegedly been involved in numerous traffic robberies in areas such as Iganmu and under the Ijora Bridge, earning notoriety among victims for his dreadlocks and perceived lethality.

“Despite evading capture on several occasions in the past, the suspect was apprehended on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. following intelligence indicating his presence, along with his gang members, at Iganmu under the bridge,” Hundeyin elaborated.

He added, “Operatives swiftly responded to the scene from the Ijora Badia Division and succeeded in apprehending the suspect as he emerged from his criminal hideout. While his accomplices managed to flee, the suspect was detained at the station, where he confessed to his involvement in the crimes. Investigations are ongoing.”
