Kidnappers demand N30m ransom for abducted Delta youth president
The youth leader in Ohoror community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Alex Orukevwe, has been kidnapped.
Reporters gathered that the victim was kidnapped on Tuesday around 7 pm along Ughelli-Patani Road, before Otega Emerhor’s house, as the kidnappers shot into the air to scare passers-by.
The kidnappers were said to have since contacted his family with the victim’s mobile phone, demanding N30 million as a ransom
The President, Youth wing of Urhobo Progress Union Worldwide, Kelly Umukoro, who disclosed this in a post on Facebook, condemned the incident while demanding an unconditional release of the youth president.
When contacted on Wednesday, Force Spokesperson in the state, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident, adding that the Police are on a manhunt for the culprits to secure the release of the youth leader.
