KIDNAPPED! Gunmen abduct Indonesia-based Nigerian businessman in Imo

An Indonesia-based Nigerian businessman has been abducted by unknown gunmen at Abba, in Nwangele local government area of Imo State.

According to reports, Onyinyechi Anochie from Umuokpara Abba, was kidnapped at about 8:45 pm at Christ the Kings Church Junction in Ogwuaga Abba.

It was gathered that the gunmen traced Onyinyechi through an insider who was aware of the victim’s movement and intercepted him at the CKC culvert.

The suspected kidnappers started shooting sporadically in the air to scare away people before bundling the victim in the trunk of their car, abandoning his own car at the spot.

The eyewitness said,

“I was there when it happened. It was like s scene from Rambo movie. The kidnappers just got out of their car and shot severally into the air to scare people before bundling the young man into this get-away cat.”

Spokesman of the Imo State Police Command, DSP Andrew Enwerem, who confirmed the incident said they are making efforts to rescue the victim.

“We received the report last night at about 9 pm and we are working on it.” he said.

A family source said the victim just came back from his Abuja preparatory to his travelling back to his base, Indonesia.
