JUST IN: Thugs disrupt APC media parley in Bauchi
A mild drama played out at the premises of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) press centre in Bauchi State on Thursday when some suspected thugs disrupted a press conference called by a faction of the chapter All Progressive Congress(APC).
The thugs, numbering about 50, invaded the venue at about 10:40 am, throwing stones and other objects to prevent the event from holding.
The meeting was called by a faction in the APC to dissolve the State Working Committee led by embattled chairman, Alh. Ubah Nana, before the proceedings, was hijacked.
The thugs boasted nobody can remove Nana as they chased away journalists and others.
It took the quick intervention of the men of the Police Command to contain the situation.
Parties involved in the fracas were whisked away while the briefing was placed on hold.
