JUST IN: Buhari departs Nigeria for London

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has departed Nigeria for London, United Kingdom.
He left on Tuesday afternoon in one of the jets in the presidential fleet through the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
The President is expected to see a doctor during his stay in the UK and he is due to be back in the country in the second week of April, according to presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina.
Buhari is embarking on the medical trip at a time member of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors have declared their intention to commence a strike on April 1.
The President’s trip also comes at a time when the country is bedeviled with many security challenges including insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, amongst others.
