In a momentous announcement made during Sunday’s church service, Jimmy Odukoya, the eldest son of the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, has been declared as the new General Overseer of the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, Lagos.

This significant appointment comes following the passing of his father, who was a revered figure in the church community.

Pastor Jimmy, a Nollywood actor who pursued his education at the Oral Roberts University in the United States, will officially assume his role as Senior Pastor on September 30.

He will also serve as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Church.

The announcement was met with cheers and excitement from the congregation as a board member shared the news, saying, “Pastor Jimmy is now our senior pastor and he is the chairman of the Board of Trustees.”

Jimmy Odukoya’s sister, Tolu Tolu Odukoya Ijogun, has also been appointed as the new associate pastor of the Church, further solidifying the Odukoya family’s continued dedication to the Fountain of Life Church.

This succession plan, which has received the blessings of the Church’s Board of Trustees and Bishop Mike Okonkwo, the spiritual mentor of the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, will officially take effect on September 30.

Rotimi Okpaise, a pastor, shared insights into the succession plan, revealing that the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya had confided in three different members of the Board of Trustees about this plan before his passing.

He stated, “Bishop Mike Okonkwo called on the BoT last week on the succession plan, and it was confirmed to him that Pastor Taiwo left a word on the succession plan before he departed.”

“Pastor Taiwo before his death left words with three individuals who are trustees of the Church. Pastor Jimmy also said Pastor Taiwo told him to carry on with the mantle after his departure.

“Subsequently, a board meeting was summoned, and we decided to follow the constitution. Pastor Jimmy was nominated and he was unanimously voted for by all BoT members. With this, Pastor Jimmy Odukoya is now our Senior Pastor.”

This momentous announcement was made during both of the Sunday church services.
