Following the threats posed by the heightened insecurity in Kano, the State government has ordered an indefinite closure of Bagauda Technical College.
The move was to prevent the loss of lives of students and teachers of the college, according to a statement released on the official Twitter handle of the Kano State Ministry of Education on Tuesday morning.
In the statement signed by the Ministry spokesman, Aliyu Yusuf, on behalf of the state Commissioner of Education, Malam Muhammad Sanusi Sa’id Kiru, the parents have been advised to immediately evacuate their children.
“The closure of the college which was necessitated following a disturbing security report and the need to protect the lives of the students, teachers and other staff of the college.
“He (Kiru), therefore, urged parents to immediately evacuate their children from the College and wait for further directives.
“The Commissioner further used the opportunity to express appreciation of the state government to parent’s/ guardians for their unflinching support and cooperation on government’s policies and directives, especially on security-related matters,” the statement read.
