The Imo State Police Command has announced new phone numbers for the public to report any misconduct by police officers.
This information was shared by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, on Sunday in Owerri.
The department handling these complaints is called the “Complaint Response Unit (CRU).” The phone numbers provided for reporting are 08082344991 (for WhatsApp/SMS), 08148024755, and 08166321980.
Okoye stated, “For Complaints Against Police Misconducts in Imo. The Imo State Police Command Complaint Response Unit (CRU) can be reached via the lines 08082344991 (WhatsApp/SMS), 08148024755 and 08166321980.”
He emphasized the commitment of the Command to uphold the law and maintain high standards of professionalism while protecting the lives and properties of Imo State residents.
“The Command is committed to upholding the rule of law and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism while safeguarding the lives and properties of the good people of Imo State. Your safety is our priority,” Okoye said.
The PPRO also urged the public to support and cooperate by reporting any misconduct by officers through the provided channels.
“The Command is highly committed to improving the quality of its service delivery. We need your support and cooperation by reporting erring officers via the appropriate channels. The Command is ever ready to handle the matter with utmost professionalism,” he added.
Okoye expressed optimism that the Complaint Response Unit would enhance public trust and confidence in the Police.
“We are optimistic that the Complaint Response Unit will strive to enhance public trust and confidence in the Police,” he said.
Residents of Imo State are encouraged to use these numbers to report any issues with police conduct, ensuring that the Command can address these matters effectively and maintain a high level of service and trust.
