Igboho injured during DSS raid

Embattled Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, has debunked the news of his arrest.

WuzupNigeria had reported that Igboho’s house was invaded on Thursday by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Although Igboho escaped, two persons were killed while 13 others were arrested and paraded by the DSS in Abuja.

There was, however, a disturbing report on Friday when some online mediums disclosed that Igboho was arrested by the DSS at the Sat Guru Maharaj Ji Camp in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital and had been taken to Abuja.

But the report was subsequently debunked as false when Igboho’s media aide, Olayomi Koiki and sources close to Guru Maharaj Ji, said that the story was untrue.

The activist himself denied his rumoured arrest in a recorded voice message played on Facebook by his aide during a live broadcast at 11:59 pm on Friday.

Igboho, who spoke in the Yoruba language, said he was still at his house in Ibadan.

He said, “Good evening my fans. I thank you all. My name is Sunday Igboho and today is July 2 , 2021. I have been hearing that they have arrested me at Guru Maharaj Ji. It is a lie. I was not at Guru Maharaj Ji. I am in my house in Ibadan and nobody arrested me.” [sic]
