A new biography focusing on the life and influence of Kim Kardashian is scheduled for release later this year, promising an extensive examination of one of modern pop culture’s most influential personalities.

The book, titled Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future, was written by journalist Jonathan Van Meter and will be published by Viking Press, an imprint of Penguin Random House, on October 27.

According to the official synopsis, the biography chronicles Kardashian’s transformation from being publicly recognised as Paris Hilton’s close associate to establishing herself as a successful entrepreneur, fashion trendsetter and advocate for criminal justice reform.

The synopsis portrays Kardashian as “a self-made mogul, social media genius, fashion icon and unlikely advocate for criminal justice reform,” while also suggesting that public assumptions about her personality and career are often more complex than widely believed.

Based on conversations with Kardashian, members of her family, friends and professional associates, the publication is expected to provide readers with a detailed account of both her private life and business success.

Commenting on the project in an interview with PEOPLE, Van Meter said, “I realised I’d never met a public figure about whom perception and reality were so at odds.”

He further stated, “Kim is in fact one of the most competent, resourceful and intuitive people I’ve ever met.” The biography is currently available for preorder ahead of its October release.
