Former Big Brother Naija housemate Bella Okagbue has demanded billions of naira from her former partner Segun Olusemo, popularly known as Sheggz. According to Leadership, Bella’s legal representatives issued a notice containing allegations of physical assault, emotional and psychological abuse, verbal harassment and other claims. These all arise from the former couple’s relationship.
The document also includes an allegation of attempted murder through asphyxiation. However, the claims have not been established by a court.
Bella’s lawyers cited alleged incidents during the relationship. For instance, one included an event in which she reportedly contacted Sheggz’s mother asking for help to leave his residence.
“Mum please call Sheggz to let me go home,” the message cited in the document reads.
Legal team outlines financial demands
The notice seeks N2bn for alleged physical, emotional and psychological trauma. Additionally, it seeks N500m over an alleged breach of promise to marry. These financial requests are key aspects of the Bella Sheggz dispute.
Bella is also seeking the repayment of sums her lawyers claim she advanced to Sheggz during their relationship.
Those demands include about N19.8m and more than £10,000 in alleged outstanding funds.
Her lawyers have additionally sought the removal and retraction of publications they consider defamatory as well as a public apology.
Former couple’s dispute moves beyond social media
