How God saved me from predecessor’s trap – Adeleke
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke announced that, despite obstacles set by his predecessor, the state has been liberated through prayers from religious leaders and residents.
Speaking at the 2024 state prayer event in Osogbo on Tuesday, Adeleke credited the answered prayers from the interdenominational gathering in 2023 for the state’s freedom.
He expressed, “In those challenging times, we sought the Lord’s help to stabilize the troubled governance. We fervently prayed for divine victory in the face of a hostile environment. Today, I am delighted to declare that our state is liberated from past constraints. The prayers of the righteous have secured victory, salvation, and redemption.”
Adeleke shared personal experiences of divine guidance in decision-making over the past year, emphasizing that his leadership is God-guided. Despite challenges inherited from his predecessor, Adeleke highlighted the manifestation of divine intervention in addressing critical issues, overcoming expectations of failure.
“My dear people of faith, I have personal confessions to make. In the past year, I have directly experienced divine guidance in making state decisions. On several occasions, God Almighty was my instructor in deciding on key issues. When I told you I govern with the fear of God, it was not a joke. Our leadership is a product of divine plan and manifestation.
“The signs are everywhere, even for our political opponents to see. I will share some of the examples with you all. When I assumed the governorship of our dear state, many serious problems existed. Such issues appeared to have defied all solutions. My predecessor deliberately added petrol to the fire by laying several boobytraps before he left office. Nobody expects solutions from us. The thoughts of detractors were the expectation of failure,” he said.
The interdenominational prayer event, attended by religious leaders, traditional rulers, and civil servants, aimed to usher in the new year with spiritual blessings.
