Gunmen storm Agric University in Benue, kidnap students
Gunmen have allegedly stormed the Federal University of Agriculture (FUAM) in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, and kidnapped an unspecified number of students.
WUZUPNIGERIA gathered that the gunmen stormed the school on Sunday night and abducted the students at gunpoint
The Director of Information, Protocol and Public Relations Unit (IPPR), Mrs Rosemary Waku, in a statement on Monday, said the incident has been reported to the police and other security agencies.
“An unconfirmed number of students of FUAM were abducted at gunpoint by unknown persons from the Campus on Sunday 25th April, 2021,” the statement said.
“The University has reported the incident to the police and all relevant security agencies. The University has not heard anything from the students or their captors since the unfortunate incidence took place.”
The development comes less than a week after no fewer than 23 students and staff of Greenfield University, Kaduna, were also abducted on campus. Three of the students were later discovered dead near the campus about 72 hours later.
The abductors later demanded N800n to free the students.
