Unknown Gunmen on Thursday kidnapped a popular nightclub owner, Mr Tari Ajanami in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.

The 43-year-old is the owner of Club 64, a notable hub for nightcrawlers, along the Baybridge area of Yenagoa.

He is also said to be a staff of an old generation bank in Yenagoa.

Ajanami, an indigene of Ayamasa town in Ekeremor Local Government Area, was said to have been abducted in the evening of Wednesday at a building project site along Otiotio road in the state capital.

The Nation reported that the victim was at his building site to pay workers when the gunmen whisked him away to an unknown destination.

Although some people alleged that the abduction might be connected to the lavish birthday bash he recently had, others argued that being a popular socialite, he might have been kidnapped for ransom.

When contacted, the Spokesman of Bayelsa Police Command, Asinim Butswat, confirmed his abduction.

He stated: “On 28 July 2021 at about 2100 hours, three armed men kidnapped one Oyintari Ajanani, male, 43 years at Otiotio, Yenagoa.

“All operatives have been alerted and are on the trail of the suspects.”
