Gov polls: Kogi deputy gov loses LG to SDP
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward David Onoja, has faced defeat in his own local government, Olamaboro, as the opposition Social Democratic Party secured a significant victory.
The All Progressive Congress, the political party to which Onoja belongs, garnered 5,572 votes in Olamaboro, while the SDP emerged triumphant with a substantial 22,173 votes.
The collation officer of the Local Government, Ogbufa Chukwudi, confirmed and signed the official result.
In the same local government, Senator Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party managed to secure 1,376 votes.
The total votes cast in Olamaboro Local Government were reported as 30,226, with 29,731 votes rejected, and an additional 495 declared as invalid.
