APC’s Olakunle Oluomo emerges Ogun Speaker
A former deputy speaker of the eighth Ogun state house of assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, has emerged the speaker of the ninth state house of assembly.
Oluomo, a member of the All Progressives Congress [APC] and a three-term lawmaker from Ifo 1 state constituency, was elected the new speaker of the state assembly by all the 26 members of the assembly.
He was a sole nominee for the seat and was adopted by all the members of the assembly.
Oluomo was a former loyalist of former governor of the state Ibikunle Amosun before they had a disagreement prior to the last election over the choice of the party to choose for his ambition.
The assembly also elected Dare Kadiri, a member of APC from Ijebu North 2: (Ifelodun) constituency, as deputy speaker of the assembly.
He was also a sole contestant for the seat and was adopted.
