Fire Incident: Rivers United commiserates with Wikki Tourist FC
Rivers United FC on Friday commiserated with Wikki Tourist FC of Bauchi over the fire incident that engulfed the team’s bus on its way to Uyo, Akwa-Ibom, on Feb. 18.
The General Manager of Rivers United, Okey Kpalukwu, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt, expressed shock at the fire incident involving players of Wikki Tourist FC.
Kpalukwu expressed the heartfelt concern of Rivers United FC to the Wikki Tourist family.
“Let me on behalf of the management, technical crew, players, backroom staff and supporters of Rivers United FC sympathize with the club at this trying time.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Wikki Tourist family at this very moment; we thank God that no life was lost.
“Let me assure you that we at Rivers United are standing with you as everyone involved will overcome and recover from this traumatic experience,” he said.
Dakkada FC was scheduled to host Wikki Tourists in Uyo on Saturday, Feb. 20 in the NPFL Match Day 11 fixture.
