Ex-Speaker Ghali laid to rest in Kano
The final rites for the late Alhaji Ghali Na’Abba, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, were conducted in Kano on Wednesday.
His remains were transported from Abuja to the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, where family members, friends, and government officials received them around 3 pm.
A funeral prayer at the emir’s palace, led by Chief Imam Prof. Sani Zahradeen at approximately 5:30 pm, preceded the burial at Dandolo Cemetery in Goron-Dutse, Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State.
Na’Abba, who passed away in Abuja in the early hours of Wednesday following a prolonged illness, received tributes and attendance at the funeral prayer from dignitaries such as Vice President Sen. Kashim Shettima, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Deputy Governor of Kano State Alhaji Aminu Abdulsalam, and Senator Abdulrahman Kawu-Sumaila. Former governors Ibrahim Shekarau and Rabiu Kwankwaso, along with former Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Sule Lamido, and members of the state and national assemblies also paid their respects.
