Ex-Service Chiefs Olonisakin, Buratai get Letters of Credence
Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (retd.) and the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin (retd.) have received their Letters of Credence.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, presented the Letters of Credence to them on Wednesday, according to the ministry
Onyeama, during the brief ceremony, congratulated them on their appointment by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) and called on them to deploy their wealth of experience to promote Nigeria’s interest during their tour of duty in countries of accreditation.
Buhari had nominated the ex- four Service Chiefs on 4th February 2021, and confirmed by the Senate on February 23, 2021, despite public outcry.
Ex-Chief of Air Staff, Ibok Ibias and the former Chief of Naval Staff, Abubakar Sadique, are yet to be posted.
