Enugu set for hitch-free 31st Inter’l Trade Fair – ECCIMA

 The Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA) says it has concluded arrangement for a hitch-free 31st Enugu International Trade Fair holding between March 13 and March 23.

The reports that ECCIMA had scheduled the fair to start from Friday, March 13 and run through to March 23 at the Trade-Far Complex, Golf Estate, GRA Enugu.

The Director-General of ECCIMA, Mr. Nduka Awuregu, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu on Wednesday that “perfect security, technical and organizational arrangement had been concluded already’’.

Awuregu said that the fair-ground was set as work on the stands and stalls had been finished; while the ones remaining are currently at their advance stages of completion.

“We have done all necessary arrangement and even got re-affirmation from our stakeholders that they will be on the ground on the open ceremony day.

“The honourable Minister of Trade and Investment has given consent to grace the occasion and had assured to send an advance party by tomorrow, Thursday,’’ he said.

Awuregu, who is also the Director-General of South-East Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (SECCIMA), noted that the chamber was doing serious sensitization on radio and other media platforms to inform people of the upcoming international event.

“We have gone ahead to paste information about the fair on commercial tricycles and vehicles to further herald the event within Enugu and beyond,’’ he said.

On transport logistics, he said that the chamber had made an arrangement with the Enugu State government to provide long buses that would help convey exhibitors, participants and shoppers to the fair, coming in through flight from Owerri Airport.

“We have arranged that the long buses will have armed security men attached to them to ensure that safety of our guests, exhibitors, participants and shoppers using Owerri Airport to link to Enugu since the Akanu Ibiam International Airport is undergoing repairs.

“The Chamber is assuring of the best fair in recent times and we are ready to make it happen,’’ he added.
