#EndSARS: Beyonce heartbroken over senseless brutality in Nigeria
American star, Beyonce has expressed heartbreak over the “senseless brutality taking place in Nigeria” after security officials attacked unarmed protesters.
About seven persons have been reportedly killed while close to 30 persons are currently receiving treatments from gunshot wounds at hospitals close to the Lekki Toll Gate area of Lagos State, where the attack occurred.
According to Beyonce, she has been working with youth organizations to support those protesting for change as well as provide shelter and emergency healthcare and food.
“I am heartbroken to see the senseless brutality taking place in Nigeria. There has to be an end to sars.
“We have been working on partnerships with youth organizations to support those protesting for change. We are collaborating with coalitions to provide emergency healthcare, food and shelter.
“To our Nigerian sisters and brothers, we stand with you.”
