The defunct singing duo P-Square came to our subconscious in the Nigerian entertainment industry in 2001 when won the Grab Da Mic competition, sponsored by Benson & Hedges hence their debut album, titled Last Nite, was released under Timbuk2 music label.

They warmed their way into the hearts of Nigerians mostly because they are twin brothers with incredible talent; while one is an incredible dancer, Mr P; the other seems to be a better vocalist, Rudeboy.

Shortly after they emerged into the Nigerian music scene, they became a household name as P-Square was also nominated as “Most Promising African Group” in the Kora Awards three months after the release of their debut album. They eventually won the 2003 Amen Award for “Best R&B Group”.

Sadly, over a decade of releasing chart-busting albums and hit songs like Ifunaya, Omoge mi, Get Square, Onyinye, among several others they decided to part ways.

The news was so shocking that both fans and celebrities alike begged them to rescind their decision. Some super fans even posted their videos weeping because the celebrities split.

While Nigerians are now coming to terms with the fact that the twins may never come back together despite the fact that no one really knows the bone of contention, a few weeks ago, on their birthday they called themselves out as Rudeboy warned his brother’s wife to stop tagging him on her birthday post.

Four years down the line, they are both striving in the music industry and entertaining their now divided fan base.

Family feud is one of the most difficult to settle especially when the parties involved are not willing to bury the hatchet.

Well, a lot of people have moved past the breakup as Rudeboy and MR P have been trying hard to stay relevant in the music industry as a solo artist.

Their split has made fans take sides as they have been arguing on which of the twins is doing better as a solo artist.

This has caused a debate on who is now the most successful singer among the twins. This debate comes shortly after Nigerians blasted Paul Okoye for performing Psquare’s song at a presidential wedding in Equatorial Guinea.

So far, MR P has so far released about 20 songs while Rude Boy has released a total of about 23 songs.

Looking at some parameters like their YouTube subscription, views, social media followership, endorsements one can easily decipher who seems to be doing better.

Although Mr P has about 290,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, his highest view One More Night has about 15 million views; it was posted about a year ago.

His song Wokie Wokie featuring Jamaican artiste Nyanda, which was posted two years ago, fetched him 13 million views. While the song Ebeano, posted two year ago fetched him about 6.3million views.

The most recent song on his YouTube account, Follow My Lead featuring Wande Coal was posted two weeks; it has about 334,000 views.

His twin brother Rudeboy, boasts of about 962,000 subscribers. His most viewed song which was posted about a year ago, Reason With Me, has garnered 85 million views.

The song, Reality, which was post two years ago fetched him about 22 million views while his hit song with Olamide and Phyno, Double Double has garnered about 22 million views.

The most recent song which he posted about a week ago, Woman, has been viewed about 939,000 times.

On Instagram, Mr P boasts of followership of 10.1 million followers while his twin brother, Rudeboy is followed by 7.1 million. On their Twitter accounts, Mr P commands about 3.4m followers while Rudeboy has about 1.7m.

On Mr P’s verified Facebook page, @OfficialMisterP, he has over 3.7 million followers while on his brother’s verified Facebook page, @rudeboyfire, he has over 3.6 million followers.

A peek into their endorsement deals so far, it seems Mr P has more endorsements as he is the face of brands like Adiddas, Kia, Nutricima , Merrybet, MTN, Olympic milk, Glo and skols.

He owns a football academy, MRP FC, a sports betting company, ZoomLottery and ZoomBets, and record label, P Classic. He also has a television show, ‘Dance with Peter’ and signed a distribution deal with Empire records in 2017.

As for his brother, Rudeboy, based on his Instagram posts he has been promoting a new sportswear company, AFA Sport amongst other undisclosed endorsements.

However, according to Google findings,  MR P is reportedly worth $16.4m while Rudeboy reportedly worth $15m.

Either way, both artists seem to be doing well for themselves as solo artistes, so, who is your favourite among the twins?
