COVID-19: NYSC members in Kebbi fumigate LG secretariat, staff quarters

Some members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi have embarked on fumigation exercise as part of their contributions toward preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Speaking during the exercise on Thursday, the Secretary, Arewa Local Government, Arewa, Malam Abubakar Umar-Bunza, who represented the Council Chairman, appreciated the efforts of the corps members.

He pledged the commitment of the council to work closely with the corps members toward containing the spread of the COVID-19 in the state.

He advised the corps members to always feel free as his door would always be opened for any form of possible assistance.

“You may wish to call whenever the need arises even at short notice,” Umar-Bunza said.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the corps members fumigated ‘Corpers Lodges’, Local Government secretariat, staff quarters as well as the police station.

Receiving liquid wash and fitted buckets, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the area, ASP Abubakar Mohammed appreciated the corps members for their gesture.

He assured that the items would be immediately put to use within the premises.

The NYSC Local Government Inspector, Mr. Timothy Dikko, who led the corps members strictly ensured social distancing while conducting the humanitarian exercise.
