The Judge, Muhammad Adamu, however, gave him an option of one-day community service and warned him to desist from committing crimes and to be of good behavior.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, John Okpa told the court that the convict deceived one Onyemachi Favour, Manager of Bet9ja shop at Gbazango, Kubwa into allowing him to play a betting game on Aug. 25.

Okpa said Emeka deceived Favour to play the said game at N6, 000 via virtual betting but failed to pay the money.

The prosecution counsel said the offense contravened the provisions of Sections 321 of the Penal Code.

Emeka, however, pleaded guilty to the charge.

The defense counsel, Lilian Ibrahim begged the court for leniency saying Emeka was remorseful and admitted to the offense without wasting the time of the court.
