Court remands man over alleged murder of Ibadan teenager
An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Thursday ordered that a man, Dolapo Lawal, be remanded in a correctional centre for allegedly killing a teenager.
Lawal, 21, whose residential address was not provided is charged with murder.
Magistrate Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti did not take the plea of Lawal for want in jurisdiction.
She directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.
She adjourned the case until July 14 for DPP advice.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Sgt. Philip Amusan told the court that Lawal committed the offence on April 11, at 2. 10 p.m, at Modina area, Ibadan.
Amusan said Lawal caused the death of Kehinde Alamu, 18, when he hit him on the chest.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 319 of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.
