Several news sites have shared reports that Nigerian pastor David Kingleo Elijah who sometime in February 2020 told his congregants that he was going to China to the “destroy coronavirus” has indeed visited the country but has contracted the virus.

Recall that pastor David Kingleo Elijah had said in a filmed sermon that:

“I am going to China to go and deal with coronavirus, I am going prophetically to destroy coronavirus. Where there is a prophet, people will not die. I cannot be a prophet, I am in this world and China is dying.”

Shortly after this, news circulated with photos too alleging that the pastor had since travelled to China and was been hospitalised there.

However, WuzupNigeria’s research shows that the photo making rounds is not of the pastor but that of late Adeshina Adesanya, a Nollywood actor popularly known as Pastor Ajidara.

Adesanya died in 2017 after suffering kidney failure and his death was reported across major news platforms in Nigeria.
