Commuters stranded as machete-wielding thugs block Lagos highway
Some road transport workers, including machete and knife-wielding thugs have left commuters stranded at the Cele Bus Stop on Oshodi-Apapa Expressway following a protest against the Lagos State Taskforce.
The demonstrators have reportedly set up bonfires on the expressway inward Oshodi and are preventing commercial vehicles and motorcyclists on both sides of the expressway from operating.
The Nation reports that the demonstrators were protesting an alleged routine and indiscriminate seizure of their vehicles by the taskforce officials.
The protesters added that they allegedly pay huge sums before they are released.
