COACHELLA! Nigeria is home to the largest number of backward unprogressive fools, says Burna Boy
After the barrage of the insults directed at Burna Boy for calling out Coachella organisers, the singer has said that Nigeria is home to the largest number of backward unprogressive fools.
The 27-year-old “Ye” crooner further said that Nigerians are not mentally advanced enough to fight for themselves, however, he will fight for them because he genuinely loves them.
Burna Boy made the statement in reaction to the uproar over his controversial statement questioning the organisers of Coachella for publishing his name in small fonts on its event flyer.
The afrofusion singer had emphatically stated that he is an “African Giant” and also demanded that the organisers “fix things” quickly.
The singer in a now deleted post shared on Friday, January 4, 2018, Burna Boy said;
“Don’t worry. I know it is a fact that my own country Nigeria is home to the largest number of backward unprogressive fools.
“I will still fight for them because they are not mentally advanced enough to fight for themselves.
“They will forever have my genuine undying love.”
Recall that music enthusiasts and non-fans of Burna described him as a “Discount Fela, Okirika Bob Marley, Social Media Lucky Dube & Upgraded Daddy Showkey.”

While also promising to grant an interview to make himself understood on the issue, the singer emphasised that nothing he says comes from any place of “pride” or any sense of entitlement.
“I represent a whole generation of solid African creatives going global.
“Not the soft, low self-esteem African with the slave mentality. I will soon grant an interview soon to make myself understood.
“Nothing I say comes from any place of “pride” or any sense of entitlement.
“It comes from my vision of the future of Africa, not just African music,” he said.
