[ICYMI]Buhari swears in CJN Ariwoola

The President, Major General Mihammadu Buhari (retd), swore in Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria at the State House, Abuja on Wednesday.

Buhari, according to a prompt released by the Nigerian government also “presides over the Federal Executive Council Meeting.”

Premium Politics reported that Ariowola was appointed the acting CJN following the resignation of the erstwhile CJN, Tanko Muhammad, who resigned following allegations of corruption levelled against him by the justices of the Supreme Court.

His appointment and swearing-in as acting CJN was approved by the Senate which was sealed three weeks ago.
