The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Paul Arkwright, on Wednesday, visited Governor Godwin Obaseki at the government house in Benin City.
This was made known in the post shared on the Facebook page of Gloria Eluebo Adagbon which was also shared on the group: Edo Arise.
The British High Commissioner promised Governor Obaseki that his country would assist to woo international companies to drive the economy of Edo state.
Mr. Arwright, who said he was in Benin for the commissioning of the New Spirit-Line of Guinness Nigeria PLC, expressed appreciation of the uncommon genuine human gesture of Governor Obaseki towards him.
He revealed that Guinness was a British company with an Irish name, and promised to champion Edo State with British Companies to do business.
The British High Commissioner said he feels much at home following the reception he received, noting that he is very privileged to take Edo State as his second home.
Governor Obaseki in his remarks, thanked Mr. Arwright and reminded him that this is his second visit to Edo State. He also assured him that he has Edo State as his second home.
