Omo-Agege emerges Deputy Senate President
The lawmaker representing the Delta State central senatorial district, Ovie Omo-Agege, has emerged the Deputy Senate Presidency seat after defeating Ike Ekweremadu of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP].
105 senators participated in the National Assembly [NASS] election for DSP.
WuzupNaija reports that Omo-Agege, a member of the All Progressives Congress [APC], won the NASS’ DSP elections with 68 votes while Ekweremadu polled 37 votes.
While Omo-Agege was nominated by senator-elect Baba Kaita (APC-Katsina), Ekweremadu, representing Enugu West, was nominated by senator-elect Chukwuka Utazi (PDP-Enugu).
The nomination of Omo-Agege was seconded by senator-elect Abdullahi Sabi (APC-Niger) while that of Ekweremadu was seconded by senator-elect Rose Oko (PDP-Cross River).
